Did you know that one in three pets will be lost in their lifetime, and most will never make it back home? The Petco Foundation is on a mission to increase the number of pets reunited with their families, creating the nation’s first comprehensive lost and found database of pets, which utilizes pet facial recognition technology to simplify the process. Shelters and rescues using Shelterluv can easily participate in this effort to keep pet families together and automatically upload your organization’s pets into this database. Not only will you help save pets, but your organization will become eligible for an incentive grant award. So let’s change the outlook for lost pets together and be part of this nationwide effort. It’s easy to join in just two steps. **First, [complete this form](https://www.petcofoundation.org/for-partners/shelterluv-finding-rover-partnership-form/)** to opt-in today to share your shelter’s data and give your organization a chance at up to $250,000 in grant awards and then, visit your ShelterLuv dashboard, create your API key and **send it to Setup@FindingRover.com.** [Instructions here for creating your API key.](https://help.shelterluv.com/articles/7006118819-how-to-generate-an-api-key) Share [mailto:?subject=Petco+Foundation+Grants+for+Sharing+Lost-Pet+Data+%28December+2020%29&body=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.shelterluv.com%2F2020%2F12%2F23%2Fgrant-opportunity-alert](mailto:?subject=Petco+Foundation+Grants+for+Sharing+Lost-Pet+Data+%28December+2020%29&body=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.shelterluv.com%2F2020%2F12%2F23%2Fgrant-opportunity-alert) ![Shelterluv](https://blog.shelterluv.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Scout.png?width=152&height=152&name=Scout.png) Written by Shelterluv ## Keep reading ### [![12 Inspiring Animal Welfare Organization Mission Statements](https://blog.shelterluv.com/hs-fs/hubfs/fabian-gieske-cbIKeuURaq8-unsplash-scaled-1.jpg?width=400&height=250&name=fabian-gieske-cbIKeuURaq8-unsplash-scaled-1.jpg) Industry News 12 Inspiring Animal Welfare Organization Mission Statements Shelterluv](https://blog.shelterluv.com/2019/09/11/12-inspiring-animal-welfare-organization-mission-statements) ### [![2020 Animal Welfare Conferences and COVID-19 Cancellations](https://blog.shelterluv.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/2020-Conference-Schedule-1.png?width=400&height=250&name=2020-Conference-Schedule-1.png) Industry News 2020 Animal Welfare Conferences and COVID-19 Cancellations Shelterluv](https://blog.shelterluv.com/2020/03/12/shelterluv-2020-conference-schedule) ### [![Dog Kennels](https://blog.shelterluv.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/shelterpic-300x200.jpg?width=400&height=250&name=shelterpic-300x200.jpg) Industry News COVID-19 Resources for Shelters, Animal Control and Vets (March 2020) Shelterluv](https://blog.shelterluv.com/2020/03/12/coronavirus-covid-19-and-your-community-what-you-need-to-know) ![Shelterluv](https://blog.shelterluv.com/hubfs/raw_assets/public/Shelterluv/images/shelterluv-ondark.svg) Doing what's best for pets by supporting the people who care for them ## Product - [Shelterluv](https://www.shelterluv.com/) - [Adopterluv](https://adopterluv.com/) - [PetData](https://petdata.com/) ## Company - [About us](https://www.shelterluv.com/about/) - [Careers](https://www.shelterluv.com/careers/) - [Contact](https://www.shelterluv.com/contact/) ## Resources - [Help center](https://help.shelterluv.com/) - [Luv University](https://training.shelterluv.com/) - [Release notes](https://help.shelterluv.com/articles/4033031265-product-release-notes?lang=en) © 2026 Shelterluv.
